Aguayo was selected in the 2nd-round of the 2016 draft by the Buccaneers but it hasn't turned out the way they wanted it to. Selecting a kicker in the 2nd-round of an NFL draft is comparable to selecting a kicker in the 6th-round of a fantasy football draft - it's not a wise decision.
Last season Aguayo made 22 of his 31 field goal attempts and 32 of his 34 extra point attempts.
Kicking at an accuracy rate of 71% on field goals is certainly not worthy of a draft pick, never mind a 2nd-rounder.
After he missed an extra point and a field goal in the Buc's first pre-season game the team sent him packing and left the kicking duties to recently signed Nick Folk.
Aguayo was claimed off the waiver wire by the Bears, where he will compete with Connor Barth for a roster spot.
Barth was cut by the Buccaneers in 2016 after the team drafted Aguayu. Now it's Barth in the drivers seat in Chicago and he will have his chance to re-pay his new competition with a ticket to free agency.
