No OBJ = No Giants In Dallas

Odell Beckham Jr. was designated inactive after his pre-game on-field workout prior to the Giants game vs the Cowboys at ATT Stadium on Sunday night, but that designation seemed to apply to the rest of his offensive unit as well. Eli Manning and company looked inactive and lifeless as they limped thru 60-minutes of uninspired football on their way to a 19-3 opening day loss.

Manning was 29-of-38 for 220-yards and an interception. His 78.8 completion percentage was pretty good, but he only completed one pass for more than 23-yards. His 5.8 yards per attempt was a sure result of not having OBJ on the field, but if that's the case the team needs to come-up with other options to move the football.

The Giants' two running backs - Paul Perkins and Orleans Darkwa - carried ten times for 30-yards. That's not going to scare defenses into dropping defensive backs into the box in anticipation of a potentially damaging ground game.

There is some credit that needs to be given to the Dallas defense, but it was obvious that not having the burden of covering one of the leagues elite receivers in OBJ will make life a lot easier for any defense.

The 'Boys will get a look at Trevor Siemian and the Broncos on Monday Night Football, and will then prepare their defense to duplicate their week-1 performance in Denver next week.

The Giants will head home to face the Lions on Monday night Football in week-2, and they better hope OBJ is able to play because Matt Stafford and the Lions offense won't be any easier than facing Dak Prescott and the Cowboys' offense.

To me, it's looking an 0-2 start to the 2017 season for the Giants.
